This policy explains our shipping destinations, estimated delivery times, shipping charges, duties and taxes, tracking, delays, failed deliveries, and related procedures for orders shipped to the United States and Canada.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.

  • Alaska and Hawaii
  • U.S. territories
  • APO, FPO, and other military addresses
  • PO Boxes and parcel lockers

Additional charges may apply to:

  • Remote destinations
  • Islands and territories
  • Oversized or overweight products
  • Special delivery services
  • Address changes after dispatch
  • Redelivery requests
  • Locations requiring non-standard carrier arrangements

Any applicable additional charge will be communicated before the shipment proceeds.

3. Estimated Delivery Time

Unless otherwise stated on the product page, most rugs are estimated to arrive within approximately 20–30 business days after the order is placed.

Business days generally exclude Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays observed in the country of origin or destination.

Many SHIKIMONO rugs are made to order or shipped from overseas warehouses and manufacturing partners. Delivery times may vary depending on:

  • Production schedules
  • Product availability
  • Customs clearance
  • Warehouse processing
  • Carrier capacity
  • Destination
  • Weather and transportation conditions

Delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed.

If we become aware that an order cannot be shipped within the stated or applicable timeframe, we will contact you with an updated estimate and provide any options required under applicable law, which may include agreeing to the delay or cancelling the affected order for a refund.

4. Duties, Import Charges and Taxes

United States

For eligible shipments to the United States, customs duties and import-related charges are included in the purchase price unless otherwise stated at checkout or on the product page.

Customers are generally not required to pay additional customs duties or import charges upon delivery.

Applicable sales tax may be calculated and collected at checkout based on the delivery address and applicable law.

Canada

For eligible shipments to Canada, customs duties and import-related charges are included in the purchase price unless otherwise stated at checkout or on the product page.

Applicable GST, HST, PST, QST, or other sales taxes may be calculated and collected at checkout where required.

SHIKIMONO will cover the applicable import charges when the order is expressly sold as duties included.

If customs authorities require additional information, SHIKIMONO or the carrier may contact you.

5. Made-to-Order and Custom Products

Custom-made, made-to-order, personalized, special-size, and backorder products require production time before shipment.

Applicable production and estimated delivery times will be displayed on the product page whenever possible.

Production may begin shortly after payment is confirmed.

6. Delivery Delays

Orders may occasionally be delayed because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • Severe weather
  • Public holidays
  • Customs inspections
  • Warehouse processing delays
  • Carrier delays
  • Transportation disruptions
  • Incorrect or incomplete shipping information
  • Remote-area delivery restrictions
  • Other unforeseen events

If a significant delay occurs, we will contact you and provide an updated estimate whenever reasonably possible.

Where required by applicable law, customers will be given the option to consent to a revised shipping date or cancel the affected order for a refund.

7. Order Cancellation

Because many SHIKIMONO products are made to order or immediately allocated through overseas warehouses and logistics partners, orders generally cannot be cancelled once production, procurement, customization, or warehouse processing has begun.

Please contact Customer Support as soon as possible if you wish to request a cancellation. If processing has not begun, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request.

This section does not limit any cancellation or refund rights available under applicable law, including rights arising from non-shipment, significant delays, unavailable products, or other circumstances in which cancellation must legally be offered.

8. Shipping Address Changes

Please contact us immediately if you need to update your shipping address.

Address changes may not be possible after an order has:

  • Entered production
  • Entered warehouse processing
  • Been transferred to a carrier
  • Been shipped

Additional carrier, rerouting, storage, or redelivery charges resulting from an address change may be the customer’s responsibility where permitted by law.

We are not responsible for delays or failed deliveries caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the customer.

9. Returns and Exchanges

Returns and exchanges are handled according to our Returns & Refund Policy.

For returns or exchanges requested for personal reasons, customers may be responsible for:

  • Return shipping
  • Replacement shipping
  • Warehouse handling charges
  • Oversized freight charges
  • Other applicable logistics costs

This does not affect any rights available for damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially misdescribed products under applicable law.

A delivery may be considered unsuccessful if it cannot be completed because of:

  • Incorrect or incomplete delivery information
  • Customer absence
  • Refused delivery
  • Failure to collect the shipment
  • Failure to respond to the carrier
  • Inability to access the delivery location

The shipment may be held, returned, or otherwise handled according to the carrier’s procedures.
